Chief Investigators

The Chief Investigators make up the Program Management Group and are responsible for the strategic management of the program and for oversighting the work of the Program Staff.

IN SYDNEY

 

Professor Stephen Leeder is the Director of the Australian Health Policy Institute, Co-Director of the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and a professor of public health at the University of Sydney. His research interests as a clinical epidemiologist have been around asthma and cardiovascular disease.

Associate Professor Ruth Colagiuri is based in the School of Public Health and Director of the Diabetes Unit, Australian Health Policy Institute, University of Sydney.

Dr James Gillespie is a Senior Lecturer in Health Policy, School of Public Health, University of Sydney.

Dr Stephen Jan is a Senior Health Economist at the George Institute for International Health.

IN CANBERRA

 

Professor Nicholas Glasgow is Director of the Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute (APHCRI) at The Australian National University (ANU). His research interests include primary health care systems and respiratory health.

Professor Judith Whitworth is the Director of The John Curtin School of Medical Research and Howard Florey Professor of Medical Research at ANU in Canberra and heads the High Blood Pressure Research Unit.

Mr Robert Wells is Co-Director of the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Executive Director of the ANU College of Medicine and Health Sciences. He works on a range of health policy and systems issues, including primary care, private health insurance, rural health and the health workforce.
